PostSubject: Filling the Roles...   Mon Jul 19, 2010 4:34 pm

For Glen's 4E campaign, here's what I'm aware of so far as to who is playing what and which roles are covered:

orange=alternates

Defender:
Anna -- Halfling Fighter (Paula -- adrenaline junkie with a need to put a hurt on the bad guys)
Tony -- Warforged Hybrid Battlemind/Fighter (Shackle -- former bodyguard created for a gnome necromancer)
Steven -- Minotaur Warden (Odji's slave or 'cow' as the case may be)

Striker:
Jodi -- Gnome Barbarian (Odji - son of Kord, Lord of the Axe, Kneesplitter of Orcs)
Tom -- Halfling Sorceror (E'lir -- Blue. Definitely Blue.)
Steven -- Halfling Ranger (Reed Longshot -- "Distance. That's my armor")
Steven -- Halfling Sorceror

Leader:
Brad -- Gnome Bard (Darb the Bard)
Tony -- Dwarf Warlord (Thaddeus Rock - former drill sergeant)
Steven -- Dwarf Runepriest

Controller:
Olivia -- Gnome Invoker (Breena -- The gnome who says "Boo!")
Pat -- Halfling Druid (Perrin the Stout - Mighty of bark and bite!)
Tom -- Dwarf Invoker (Bofur -- Invokes the mighty love of Sune)

I will try and update (edit) as I hear more...

E'lir, halfling sorcerer (made him up before I saw Steven's)
(Alternate: Bofur, Dwarven invoker of Sune, goddess of love)

Mainly, I think I'd be playing the Minotaur Warden. I've also recently come up with a pretty bad ass little Halfling Ranger using the Archer build. With a Halfling feat, his shortbow becomes a Brutal 2 weapon. Nasty.

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking that instead of Ray'd Bool, I'm'a gonna play my Halfling Ranger, Reed Longshot. He's just too bad ass not to play him.

My friend, Brad, should be joining us, and he's leaving his character in my hands (moolish fortal). I'm gonna offer him a choice of a Halfling Paladin of Pelor, a Dwarven Runepriest of Moradin, and something that doesn't use Divine as it's power source.

Dennis McKiernan wrote a series of books with Halfling-like characters called Warrows who were bad ass little archers. That's kind of my inspiration.

My buddy Brad is gonna play a Gnome Bard called Darb the Bard.

As little as I like the party "role" concept, would we need another defender, then? I can switch over if need be.

Fear not - Tony is eager to try out his warforged character. Smile

We might need an extra leader. We've got two defenders, two controllers, three strikers, and only one leader. Does anybody know what Jeff will want to play if he shows up?

I'm not sure that Jeff or Justin will make it. They both had obligations that took them out of town this week, and they may very well opt for family time this weekend. Totally understandable.

With as many people as we have playing, I'm not sure how badly we'd need another leader, but if the consensus is that we'd be better off with one, then I have no issues playing my Dwarf Warlord (Sgt. Rock). Anna can handle Defender. We've seen that <g>.

If you just avoid getting hit, Steven, then you won't need another leader <g>.
